J Class Regatta Newport - June 15th-19th, 2011

The J Class Regatta Newport in June was an historic regatta, with the return of the mighty J boats to Newport for four days of sensational racing. VELSHEDA and RANGER battled in Narragansett Bay and off of Newport, with Ranger taking all but one race and the trophy. VYC had the privilege of supporting the J Class Association with two spectator boats participating, AMBROSIA and BELLE, and as an event sponsor. It was an exceptional five days of racing, yachting, events and taking in the sights and sounds of Newport Shipyard.

Fresh off a total refit in 2011, she combines vintage styling with modern amenities and is a true example of a classic American yacht. AMBROSIA can accommodate five overnight guests in two comfortable, newly renovated staterooms, with a capacity for twelve guests for day charters and twenty five guests while dockside. AMBROSIA is available for two and three hour cocktail and dinner cruises, half and full-day as well as weekly charters based out of Greenwich, CT.
